Nutritional Advice
Prestige Personal Fitness will be able to monitor and advise you on the amount of protein, carbohydrates, fibre, vitamins etc the body needs. We will also advise you on supplements to take, whole food diet and other nutritional information that you may need to know.Nutrition is about food and its physiological effects upon the human body. Within food we find the substances and nutrients necessary to provide and utilise energy to enable growth and repair and to sustain life itself.
The human body is made up of: 63% water, 22% protein, 13% fat and 2% mineral (Patrick Holford)
A healthy diet should contain the right balance of energy and a wide variety of nutrients delivered from a diverse choice of natural foods. You need to eat adequate amounts from just six nutrient groups on a daily basis namely:
- CHO (carbohydrate), protein and fat - These are the macro nutrients needed in greatest amounts according to age, size, sex and activity.
- Vitamins and minerals - These are micro nutrients, needed in smaller amounts but are most important.
- H2O (water) - We need adequate amounts of fluid, this means drinking approximately two litres of water a day
